Maryam holds a Master of Counselling and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC). She also earned a Bachelor of Social Work with a specialization in Child Welfare and is a Registered Social Worker (RSW).
As a trauma-informed counsellor, Maryam provides non-judgmental, empowering, and compassionate support, believing that counselling is a sacred space for clients to explore challenges and connect with their innate wisdom. Maryam understands how social systems affect daily life and works collaboratively with clients to reach their goals using a supportive and inclusive approach.
Maryam has experience supporting clients across a wide age demographic with challenges such as depression, anxiety, experiences of trauma, parenting, grief and loss, interpersonal conflicts, work-life balance, aging-related concerns, caregiver burnout of aging parents and/or young children, life transitions, chronic pain, identity struggles, and medical trauma.
Maryam is deeply committed to advancing equity for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour) communities and is pleased to offer counselling services in both Farsi and English. Sessions are conducted virtually via video or phone, providing flexible and personalized support tailored to meet individual needs.
